After a big trip and a job well done, I would like to pass on a special thanks to my offsiders for this survey. I do a lot of my mapping surveys on my own, but when I take on big and sometimes potentially dangerous ones, I take another person and second vehicle. My crew for this survey was made up of my young fella Jordan Lawson, old friend Snags from Broken Hill and my trusty mate Tony Lowe.
I would like to use this opportunity to make special mention and thank you to Tony. Tony flies under the radar and is a bit of a quiet achiever, so not too many people know him that well, or what he does for us all behind the scenes. He has been helping and supporting me for quite a few years now and has been a very patient and supportive asset to Michelle and I, our rallies and my crazy ideas. Any big and outlandish ideas, I will usually drive Michelle mad with over a few months, then quite often Tony is the first outsider to bounce it off. It is usually met with, “your a f___in idiot”. I then go back to the drawing board and have another go. The reply is often the same with an added “don’t be stupid, you can’t do that”. When I get a wave of the hand and Tony walking away shaking his head in silence, I know I must be getting close and onto something. Either that, or he has given up all hope and knows to just roll his swag, because nothing is going to change my mind and we are going anyhow.
I love taking on big challenges that most would walk away from and over the years, have successfully done things that most say are impossible and can’t be done. It is only through help, support and experience of people like Tony that allow me the confidence to take it on. Michelle and I are very fortunate to have an amazing support network and team, and together, we can take on what most only dream of. Thank you everyone for your continued support, faith and trust in what we do. - Jamie.
