Road Boss Rally: rules & entrant Resources
RBR Car & Course overview:
TYPE OF VEHICLE:
Although older 2wd cars (20yrs +) with character are the spirit of the event and strongly encouraged, any age or type of vehicle is suitable and eligible. Good preventative maintenance is essential along with some basic, yet critical modifications to set your car up and suitable to tackle the outback course. As an example, strong healthy suspension, under body skid plate, solid tow hooks........ We will provide you with some informative and helpful advice to set your car up and also have knowledgeable and experienced entrants all over the country that can offer help, support and advice when you need it.
COURSE AND TERRAIN:
The Road Boss Rally course will be a challenge and an adventure and as we liked to say, "it was never meant to be easy, and never will be". It is not designed to break your heart or car, but it certainly will be an exciting challenge for your car and crew. The Road Boss Rally will take you into and through some of the most amazing country, areas and places you could imagine, or in most cases, wouldn't even know that they are there or exist.
Whilst the RBR course is an adventurous challenge, you can tackle it at your own pace, so there is no rush and no need for speed. Just enjoy the country and your experience.
GEAR AND EQUIPMENT:
Once again, all the details will be in the officials Rules, but to get you started, every car will need:
UHF radio
Orange flashing or quality LED lights on the roof for dusty conditions
Snatchem Strap of good quality & a 4.7t rated D shackle for recovery
Strong and safe tow hooks/points front and back.
Quality First aid kit for outback/bush travel
Drinking Water for crew members
Basic tools and equipment for minor road side repairs
Extra fuel or carrying capacity. Your car will need to be able to handle at least 400km of solid bush driving.
ROPS (Roll Over Protection Systems) is not a requirement but is encouraged for added safety, particularly in larger recreational type 4WD vehicles.
