ROAD NOISE: I love it when a plan comes together. Found everything I was looking for, and much much more. I don't know how to put it into words and I'm like a kid with a mouth full of lollies trying to speak.....just to damn excited. Shame the rally is still a year and a half away, I want to bring you back next week. The course we have mapped is incredible and anyone taking on the adventure will be well rewarded and will remember this for the rest of your life. It's tough, my word it is, but worth all the shaking, rattling, digging, fixing........... Wide open salt bush plains, stoney tree lined creeks, rugged Mountain ranges, sand dunes, clay pans and salt flats. That's in the two days we have mapped from Broken Hill to Coober Pedy. It is also the easy bit, the tough stuff is yet to come and only the warm up to the real adventure. We are in Coober Pedy now, preparing and restocking for the next leg. Now it gets tough and we will drop off the radar for the next 4-6 days. I look forward (I think?) to letting you know how we go, what we find and see if the too hard, is possibly doable. If I find what I'm looking for, it will trigger off a massive work load of problem solving, logistical challenges and plenty of brain storming sleepless nights. Gulp, here it goes............. PS: I would like to dedicate this adventure to our mate Jim Pilgram who passed away this morning. RIP big Jimbo & thanks for the laughs, memories and help with your amazing voice over many years. You were not one in a million, you were the one and the only. "The Voice". |
